Data Access Governance
Giving Safe Access to Unstructured Data
WikiLeaks, corruption scandals at the Dutch National Police, migration to SharePoint, the renewed laws on protection of personal data (Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens). Every enterprise- or government organization is faced with challenges on how to manage data that is not in an application. Authorising access to group folders, SharePoint and Office365 is increasing in demand and increasingly hard to manage. Many security measures target applications. When access to unstructured data is not regulated, it can lead to non-compliancy, decreased availability or worst case – serious reputation damage. But it is possible to obtain insight into who has access to which data and at which frequency. It’s also possible to obtain insight into usage patterns and discover deviations such as groups of people that use certain data or data that is practically never used. This is how you can secure that a Finance employee can temporarily access HR documents or for temps at a legal department to be restricted in their reading rights of certain documents pertaining to the Board. Using user-friendly procedures, it is possible to manage rights to the ever increasing amount of unstructured data.
We bring insight in rights and offer the business friendly processes to better secure unstructured data.
